The American Holtzkraft Story
In 1985, American Holtzkraft was born out of innovation. Over the years, we have developed six patents and established a worldwide footprint, a feat not easily accomplished for a female-owned small business. We operate out of Mount Pleasant Mills, PA, where we have access to the hardest of the hardwoods in North America, the Northern Ash, and the expert workmanship of the Pennsylvania Dutch population within the area.
The Long Life of American Holtzkraft Furnishings
The products that we build are built to last. We recognize that they’ll be used in harsh conditions – beachside, poolside, or otherwise exposed to sun and rain. We choose the materials and designs based on the heavy use and exposure of the pieces – solid aluminum, stainless steel, and slow-dried, multi-laminated hardwood.
The wind-resilient model of the umbrella we create relies upon the combination of a canopy design that allows for full rotation around the axis and has dual venting. These features lessen the stress on the umbrella so that damage is less likely. Wind tunnel testing demonstrates that this design allows the umbrella to avoid damage until winds pass 74.5 mph.
